Star-Spangled Giveaway!
I finished piecing an adorable quilt top over 4th of July weekend. I started it last year on Independence Day and it felt great to complete it.

There’s something incredibly quirky about patriotic pineapples. What does one have to do with the other? I can’t say exactly and yet this design grabbed my attention and I started sewing.

That was July 2019. Life got busy, summer ebbed away and my pineapples became a UFO.
Until last week!

The red and white sections were all made. Most of the HSTs were made for the pineapple stems. Just needed to make the pinwheels.

It came together quickly and I enjoyed every minute.

I can’t wait to quilt it!
For some reason, I made twice as many red-and-white units as I needed. And I made many more HSTs than I needed. Which goes hand in hand with something I’ve been thinking about doing:
Giving away extra blocks and leftovers to people who might want to make something with them. So let’s have a giveaway.

Enter this giveaway if you would like to make a Star-Spangled Pineapple from already sewn block units (9), HSTs (25), background fabric in Kona Ash for the entire quilt, triangles on a roll for the quilt in two sizes and a variety of small pieces of red and blue fabrics for the pinwheels. The fabrics are from my stash; the background is cut from a new bolt of Kona Ash that I own. My home is smoke free and pet free.
The Star-Spangled Pineapple pattern is a freebie from Amanda at Jedi Craft Girl and Amber at Gigi’s Thimble. Scroll down to the middle of Amanda’s blog post and look for “You can download the free PDF pattern by clicking HERE.” I’d encourage you to get it whether you win or not. It’s a great design, fast and fun to sew!
Poke around while you’re there because Amanda has a ton of other great free patterns.
To be entered in the giveaway, leave a comment here before the day ends on Tuesday, July 14. I’ll pick a winner soon after that, announce it here and email the winner. This giveaway is for U.S. addresses only. The winner of the giveaway is Pat Miller. She has been contacted by email.
Please note: Your comment may not show up immediately because I must approve it (otherwise SPAM 🙄) but rest assured that it will come through and show up when I see it. I don’t hang out on my computer all the time because I’m usually at my sewing machine! 😉

When I was growing up, there was a restaurant called the Brass pineapple. My family would go for breakfast after church on Sunday mornings – I have some very fond memories of eating there. The pineapple in blue/red/white is so fun!
