Giveaway! Color Coded Rainbow Quilt in AP&Q
I am really, really excited to have my rainbow Color Coded quilt in the June issue of American Patchwork & Quilting. Those folks have been so nice to work with and they made my quilt look amazing!

This weekend, I’m taking over their Instagram feed so I hope you’ll check it out. They’re @allpeoplequilt and I’m @stashbanditquilting. So much to see! I’ll have giveaways and a new free pattern for a popular quilt, plus I’ll highlight some how-tos and other fun quilty stuff.
Today I’m giving away a copy of the magazine with the pattern for Color Coded as well as a big pile of patches already cut for you to start making your own version of the quilt! What is more fun than sewing with someone else’s fabric? Now you can sew with mine!
You’ll have much of what you need to get started! Just add some neutrals and off you go.

Color Coded, designed and made by Diane Harris. Quilted by Julie Lechner @beenquiltin. Used with permission from American Patchwork & Quilting®️. ©️2019 Meredith Corporation. All rights reserved.
This quilt is one in a series of designs which are all based on a simple little Windmill block. I started making them years ago. You can read the story of Baby Windmills and learn to make them, or maybe your quilt group would like an entertaining program with all of the quilts I’ve made so far.
It’s called Windy Wonders and its popularity is growing! I gave it to Omaha Quilter’s Guild in February and they enjoyed it. I’d love to bring it to your city.
Every day I’m adding to the pile of patches for one lucky winner on this post. For your chance to win, leave a comment below by midnight (end of the day) on Monday, May 27 and tell me what you’re working on. I love hearing about other quilters’ adventures.
I’ll choose a random winner on Tuesday and announce it here. Have a great holiday weekend and come back soon, because there’s lots more fun in store!
The winner of the giveaway is Angie Balling, who has been contacted. Thank you so much for your comments! Another giveaway is coming soon.

I’m co-chairperson with my friend for the boutique part of our guild quilt show in October. I’ve been working on handmade things to sell at the boutique. Today I was working on Christmas stockings. The last project was pincushion/thread catchers that you keep beside your sewing machine. I really got carried away with those and made over 20!

Busy finishing a quilt for our University of Washington Medical Center’s Comfort Care Quilt program. As I also volunteer as a Patient Family Support person in the four ICUs I am often privileged to help find just the “right” quilt for the patient and family on Comfort Care….one that reflects their life, interests, culture, work, favorite colors etc. The many stories we see and hear of comfort and gratitude touch our hearts deeply and keep us happily stitching away.

Being a military spouse, I spend a lot of time making quilts for military veteras. I don’t donate them because I know so many that are worthy of receiving them.
