Giveaway #6 at Stash Bandit
There’s been a resurgence of interest in cross stitch. Have you noticed? I have a special place in my heart for cross stitch because when I married in 1981, my new sister-in-law Ruth Ann introduced me to it. I was a fanatical stitcher for decades. I still have many samplers in my home, and recently my daughter asked if she could have one. I think she considers it part of her heritage!
Now a number a quilt designers are also designing cross stitch patterns, including It’s Sew Emma (Fat Quarter Shop’s house brand) and Lori Holt of Bee in My Bonnet.
If I ever had a complaint about quilting as a hobby…
…it was that it’s not the most portable pastime. Sure, if you’re into English paper piecing or hand applique, it can be. But I’ve longed for the pick-it-up-and-run portability of knitting many times over—and cross stitch solves that problem.
I noticed recently that Fat Quarter Shop now has an entire category called Cross Stitch, which I take to mean that it’s doing very well. Today’s giveaway includes two cross stitch patterns from It’s Sew Emma: Starlit Snowflake and Home Grown. Maybe they’ll spur a new (and portable!) interest for you.
And if you’re a fan of Bonnie and Camille, you’ll be happy to know that I have an awesome B&C Quilt Bee tote bag, a needle minder and a tin up for grabs. There are Alphabitties to keep your patchwork organized, Floss Bitties to organize your fibers, a Quilting Journal and LOTS more foundation piecing papers in fun designs like Log Cabin and Sparkle Star.
Is that not the cutest design? And it will be so easy with foundations! I think the Fat Quarter Shop and It’s Sew Emma has hit it out of the park with these papers.
For your chance to win, leave a comment by midnight Wednesday, April 7 and tell me where you’re from. That’s it! I’ll pick a winner randomly and post it here. Thank you for visiting today!
Edited to add: The winner of this giveaway is Kitty Pittman from Oklahoma. Thank you all for playing along!
